Granny Squares

My daughter wanted me to make her a bag with 3d flowers on I could not find a pattern, but had a pattern for flower which I love making so I adapted it so I could add it to a granny square, I think the result is good.




 
Pattern

 

 
 
Base Square

 
 
With 3.50mm hook and background wool.
1. Make a ‘magic circle’ and work 2ch for height (does not count as a st), *3tr, 2ch. Rep from * 3 times, sl.st to first tr to join.
 
2. Sl.st to first 2ch space. Work 3tr, 2ch, 3tr (corner group made),1ch,miss next 3tr, corner group into each of next 3 2ch spaces, Sl.st to first tr to join.
 
3. Sl.st to corner space. Work a corner group into corner 2ch space, 1ch, 3tr into 1ch space of previous round, 1ch. Rep. in this way to end of round. Sl.st to first tr to join.
 
4. Work 2 more rounds as round 3.

 
Flower Trim

 
 
With 3.50mm hook and contrasting wool.

 
 
 
 
    1. Join contrast wool to one of the corners of round 1. Work 1dc, 3ch, dc in the next corner. Rep to end of round, sl.st to join (8 loops made).
     
     
    2. Into each loop work 1dc, 1htr,1tr,1htr,1dc. Sl.st to first st to join. (8 petals made).
     
     
    3. Work at the back of the previous round. 1ch, 1dc round post of first loop of round 1, 4ch, dc round next post. Rep to end of round – 8 loops made.
     
     
    4. Into each loop work:
     
     
    5. 1dc, 1htr, 2tr, 1dtr, 2tr, 1htr, 1dc. Sl.st to first st. to join. 8 petals made.
